travellers tales

this guy aged between 18 and 23 was found at the bottom of an excavated well in chester behind the grosvenor museum. the young man is believed to have died in a fire that destroyed the mansio (an old roman 'travel lodge) in the 3rd century. these mansiones were built every 20 to 30 miles on the major routes across the country for travellers to get a meal, change their horse and bed down for the night. they don't know how he came to be at the bottom of this well.

For some reason I can't see your picture...and I am very intrigued by the post to see what it is.

I'll try again in a few minutes - but in the meantime - I found a train - this one is pretty amazing... the link: http://capturethisphoto.aminus3.com/

The teeth he had look so white and strong that I am wondering what happened to the missing ones. Perhaps he was in a fight and that's how he ended up in the well.

I was having major problems with blgoger yesterday - I couldn't view any pics....even the ones on my own blog :) Seems to be fixed now. I kept wondering what this would be - now I know. Would make for a great Halloween picture.
