a kids museum we went to recently had a train carriage out the front where those who'd brought their own food could go and eat, rather than having to sit in the cafe or outdoors.you can imagine how much fun the kids thought this was.

these lead from the town to the beach. a lot of llandudno is below sea level, so when there's the threat of a flood they open these hatches along the shore to let the excess water out to sea. seems like a good idea. they haven't been used since their installation.
